The Mussorgsky (Mikhailovsky) Opera and Ballet Theatre
La boheme
opera The opera follows Henri Murger's Scenes de la vie de Boheme. The action takes place in Paris in 1830 and centers around the life of young people of the time. Poverty, friendly parties, unhappy love with a tragic finale constitute the plot of this performance. Soon after the premiere in Turin in 1896 the opera became one of the most popular operas in the world. The wonderfully shown colorful atmosphere of the time, characters who the public found attractive, harmonious change from satiric entertainment to melancholy, all this creates a unique unforgettable combination.
