The Magic Flute
A fairy tale story of love between Prince Tamino and daughter of the Queen of the Night, Princess Pamina. The Queen of the Night, who personifies evil, is trying to destroy the Temple of Wisdom, where kind and wise magician Sarastro keeps her daughter. Sarastro, however, manages to turn Tamino to light, and he goes through many trials and tribulations to prove his fidelity. Together with Pamina he undergoes the last test where he is assisted by a magic flute. In the church of the sun they celebrate the victory over evil and glorify Tamino and Pamina. This optimistic opera is the last and most loved work of Mozart. The plot is based on K. Wiland's Lulu tale.
