The Legend of the Invisible City of Kitezh and the Maiden Fevroniya
An old russian legend of the 13th century serves as the basis for the plot. Action takes place in Russia in days of Tartar attacks. A sad story of love of fine maiden Fevroniya and Prince Vsevolod. They are destined to find their happiness not on the earth, but in the fairy city of Kitezh which is rescued from enemies through divine intervention: it becomes invisible and similar to paradise on earth. The tragic destinies of the main characters are shown in indissoluble relation with the destiny of people in difficult years of invasion against the background of pictures of Russian nature and life.
